Winter is here, and
with it comes dry skin, redness and chapping. During the winter, low-humidity
and artificial indoor heat combine to sap your skin of moisture, resulting in
dry patches, rough texture and a dull complexion.
To keep your skin looking and feeling, soft, radiant and
healthy all winter long, follow these simple precautionary steps.
1.
Moisturize morning and night
Apply skin moisturizer liberally and frequently. Skin moisturizers
provide a protective barrier to help skin fend off winter’s harsh elements.
2. Humidify
During the winter, not
only is the outside air, but because we tend to crank up the heat, the inside
air tends to be drier than usual, too. To balance out the dryness and keep it
from affecting your skin, use a room humidifier as you sleep.
3. Stop Licking Your
Lips!
Licking your lips causes evaporation and will
just make them more dry and chapped. Instead, use a balm with vitamin E and
keep it with you at all times
